Top 5 Fridays – Favorite Books I Read in 2017

I debated whether or not I should do this post since I’ve only read a little over 30 books this year. But since today is the absolute last Friday of 2017 (it’s so sad thinking of it that way!) I felt that I should. So here are my Top 5 favorite books that I read in 2017!

5) “Haunting the Deep” (#2, How to Hang a Witch) by Adriana Mather

My Rating: ★★★★½

“Spooky, witty, fun, and a serious page-turner, Haunting the Deep is a perfect read for this Halloween season! If the creepy ghosts don’t keep you up at night, the mystery of Sam’s connection to the Titanic will keep you enthralled until the last page! I could not recommend this book more and am highly anticipating a possible third installment that Adriana says might totally happen. Eeep!”

4) “Royally Screwed” (#1, Royally) by Emma Chase

royally screwed

My Rating: ★★★★☆

This was probably one of my top favorite audio books that I listened to this year, mostly because of the amazing narration by Shane East, but also majorly due to the Cinderella-esque story in a New Adult setting. So it’s very much not for kiddos. A bit predictable but a fresh twist to a well-known troupe. Cannot recommend this enough!

3) “Geekerella” by Ashley Poston

My Rating: ★★★★½

Literally modern day Cinderella with a geeky twist! Loved the audio book for this one. The story was so engaging and I was hooked from the first chapter. As expected, a bit predictable but I was not complaining whatsoever. A fun and sweet contemporary romance that had me squee-ing constantly! Highly recommended, especially if you’re in any type of fandom. 😉

My Rating: ★★★★½

“Poignant, absolutely beautiful, and filled to the brim with raw emotions, Starfish will slowly shatter your heart then put it back together again; this time more whole, filled with an unyielding light, and beating stronger than ever before. A truly inspirational and empowering read about family, love, and self-discovery that will stay with me forever.”

    1. Same! Bummed that RAGE got pushed back but I’m glad Cora is focusing on her health more.

I started Royally Matched but haven’t been able to get through much of it yet.

YES, I loved both of Adriana Mather’s books! I hope she goes through with book 3 because I need more of Sam and Elijah. Haha
