I realized that I never made an official blog post for either of these, so let me amend that right now. This past month or so, I received two very exciting e-mails regarding my street team applications for two different books…
Firstly, I am so excited to announce that I’m officially part of the street team for Akemi Dawn Bowman’s third upcoming YA contemporary novel, Harley in the Sky!!!
The lovely cover was just revealed yesterday, too! Let’s have a look!
Harley Milano has dreamed of being a trapeze artist for as long as she can remember. With parents who run a famous circus in Las Vegas, she spends almost every night in the big top watching their lead aerialist perform, wishing with all her soul that she could be up there herself one day.
After a huge fight with her parents, who continue to insist she go to school instead, Harley leaves home, betrays her family and joins the rival traveling circus Maison du Mystère. There, she is thrust into a world that is both brutal and beautiful, where she learns the value of hard work, passion and collaboration. But at the same time, Harley must come to terms with the truth of her family and her past—and reckon with the sacrifices she made and the people she hurt in order to follow her dreams.

I discovered that Akemi was holding street team applications right after I finished reading CARAVAL (which I absolutely LOVED!) by Stephanie Garber, so it was no surprise that I gravitated towards HARLEY IN THE SKY immediately. I just want to read all the circus and carnival themed books out there now! Except for the color combination, I love the cover design; the font is so adorable and matches her two previous books, and I love the trapeze artist silhouetted in the back. Simple but has enough to draw interest.
Also, if you’re super excited and can’t wait another second to know more about this book, you can check out the first chapter on Paste Magazine!
My second street team announcement is…
I made it into Cora Carmack’s street team for RAGE!!!
This one is extra special for me because I was in her previous street team for ROAR, so there was no question that I needed to be there for the second book, too. I mean, I set out and made it my mission to acquire an ARC of RAGE at YallWest earlier this year, so it’s safe to say I’m super invested in this trilogy.
Princess or adventurer.
Duty or freedom.
Her Kingdom or the Stormhunter she loves.
If Aurora knows anything, it’s that choices have consequences. To set things right, she joins a growing revolution on the streets of Pavan.
In disguise as the rebel Roar, she puts her knowledge of the palace to use to aid the rebellion. But the Rage season is at its peak and not a day passes without the skies raining down destruction. Yet these storms are different—they churn with darkness, and attack with a will that’s desperate and violent.
This feels like more than rage.
It feels like war.

The street team for ROAR was the very first one I’d ever been in and I had so much fun! It challenged me in so many ways, but I always felt that my fellow Stormlings were there to support me. I’m looking forward to the challenges we’ll be given and seeing some familiar faces in this new street team, but also meeting all the new ones!
If you weren’t aware, the first chapter of RAGE was also released a few months ago, and you can go check it out on TorTeen’s website!
